Barbeque Nation Dubai Review

Fancy an extensive buffet? Then Barbeque Nation is just the right choice for you. Did their buffet win my heart? Scroll below to find out…

Barbeque Nation are pioneers of live grills and lovely appetizers. I was invited to check the food out here with a plus one. It is advisable to book your table as I had gone on a holiday and found it really packed. Thank God I had a reservation. They have number of outlets in India too. I love the concept of live grills embedded on the dining table itself. Barbeque Nation has both good vegetarian and non vegetarian starters and 5 options in both. Barbeque Nation is really a paradise as it not only has huge variety of starters but also live cooking, including live Chaat, noodles, keema pav, quesadillas, etc and buffet for main course and exclusive dessert section. They have Mango Mania festival running currently, so there were many dishes with Mango. What I liked about the restaurant is that there were separate cubicles available too, if you needed some privacy. Praveen was our server and host throughout my meal and also the Manager and other staff keep checking if the meal is alright and upto your mark. Praveen also asked if the spice level is okay for the grills.

2 mango dips with cilantro mayonnaise

I started with Fresh Lime soda, Lychee juice and Mango juice as coolers. They were really refreshing and much needed for this summer. I am a vegetarian and was quite happy with the starters options available like Cajun Spice potato, Crispy Fry corns, both were very yummy and crisp and could not stop myself for getting more servings. The corn spinach kebab was also yummy. The grill had yummy Paneer Lajawab, Dhanyari Aam , Chilli Mango Mushroom, Amchuri Pineapple and Mango Mustard Potato. Isn’t your mouth watering? The non veg items are mentioned in my pics. There was an extensive salad counter too.

Starters options – Vegetarian and Non – Vegetarian

Grills with I give up flag

Once you are done with the grills , there is a flag on each table which can be brought down stating that you give up and can’t eat anymore of the grills.

The Chaat ,i.e, Pani Puri, bhel Puri and dahi Puri all were good and could be prepared according to your spice level. Hakka noodles were made live were really so yummy. I found the quesadillas a little sweet and wanted them more spicy.

I was almost full with little space left for main course and dessert. The main course had extensive buffet with again loads of veg and non veg options. There were 3 different types of biryani or rice on a separate counter and your choice of bread or roti is served hot on the table. The veg buffet had Soup, Paneer Palak Tikka, Mango Kofta Curry, Aloo Methi Papad ki subzi, Baked Mushrooms and green peas and I coupled it up with Veg Soya Biryani. All the veggies were superb. Just loved the taste. Had juice after this Spicy Tango (mango with Tabasco sauce) and Shikanji, which were really very very good.

Now there was little space left just for the dessert. They have the concept of Kulfi Nation, with at least 5 or more different Kulfi flavours like Mango, Least Pistachio, Strawberry, Malai and Ghulkand and a variety of dips, sauces and other toppings to choose from.  The Kulfi counter was always crowded with people lined up for it, but that didn’t put me back. The  in house Kulfi was fabulous and a must try. I chose the Kesar pistachio flavour Kulfi for that.

And if this was not all, there were other desserts like delectable brownies, gulab jamun, pastries, cake, etc. You are really spolit for choice at Barbeque Nation. More so, the buffet is for Dh 59 per person, which is really very reasonable for such a variety and spread.

Barbeque Nation has over 60+ outlets across India and spreading the same magic here in Dubai.

My rating – 4.5 out of 5

Stay safe in Sun – Herbal Essentials Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Oil SPF 30 Review, Skin Analysis & Tips

Come summers and we need to protect ourselves from this harsh Sun (Not that you can skip sunscreen during winters). The importance of sun screen should never be underestimated. SPF, meaning ‘Sun Protection Factor’ measures a sunscreen’s protection against the sun’s harmful rays – a radiation that mainly affects the outer layers of the skin causing sunburn, premature ageing of the skin, and more seriously, skin cancer. So it is really important that we layer our skin with sunscreen and one such good sunscreen that I have come across is the Herbal Essentials Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Oil SPF 30, about which I will talk today.

The Herbal Essentials award-winning Sun Care range is formulated with a daily broad spectrum filter that offers effective UVA and UVB protection whilst leaving the skin fully hydrated. All Herbal Essentials products are paraben free, paraffin free, sulphate and soap free. All of their products are cruelty free and have natural ingredients.

UVA rays can also pass through window glass, meaning it is equally important to wear sunscreen daily, even when you are not going outside. UVB rays are the primary cause of sunburn and are particularly damaging to the skin’s outer layer. Moreover, it is equally important to wear sunscreen as we are constantly in front of gadgets like Mobiles, laptops, computers, TV, etc.

Skin Analysis :

The best part about Herbal Essentials is that they do conduct a skin analysis before they suggest any product. Though I went without makeup to conduct the skin analysis, it can be conducted even with the makeup on. The skin analysis machine looked almost like the bar code scanner and the results were shown in the tablet which was connected with the bar code scanner. They check 5 areas namely moisture, Sebum, Pore, Melanin and Acne. The results were a little scary but sharing it with you (also shared on Instagram, if you are following me there).

Findings :

– My Skin is dry everywhere, including the T-zone. This calls for more hydration.

– Thankfully no Pores or Acne

– Need to use Toner and Sunscreen to prevent pigmentation.

– Sensitivity is normal, so thank God for that.

The Herbal Essentials sun screen range consists of :

· Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 (AED 135)

· Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Oil SPF 30 (AED 140)

· Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Oil SPF 50 (AED 145)

I was given the Herbal Essentials Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Oil SPF 30 for reviewing, hence I will talk about the same.
Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Oil SPF 30 :
All Herbal Essentials sunscreen products leave no white marks on the skin. The texture of the dry oil is non-greasy and contains both coconut and sweet orange oil, so your skin not only stays protected, it smells delicious too! Sweet Orange is known for its high levels of Vitamin C and antioxidants. It helps to fight premature aging and support natural collagen. Coconut is a true wonder ingredient due to its antibacterial and anti-fungal properties and it is an excellent moisturiser, penetrating deep into the skin. Sunscreen gets totally absorbed in the skin and keeps it hydrated too. Many who don’t like the idea of sunscreen in oil, can get the Herbal Essentials Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30. It is for all skin types but the ones with oily skin might not prefer this.
The lotion contains jojoba and rosemary oil along with hydrating aloe vera and is fast absorbing and suitable for the whole family. Jojoba oil is packed with Vitamin E, B-complex, Zinc and has many moisturising, anti-bacterial and anti-aging properties.
For best results, apply Herbal Essentials sunscreen onto the face and body 30 minutes prior to sun exposure and massage into the skin, giving the cream or oil, enough time to absorb. Re-apply every 2 hours generously to maintain protection, especially after perspiring, swimming or towelling. The sun is most intense between the hours of 10:00am – 4:00pm and exposure during this time is best limited to a few hours. If you are hitting the beach for the day, also remember your sunglasses and a hat for extra protection.

Overall Opinion :

It was wonderful trying out sunscreen in the oil texture for the first time and totally loved it. Moreover as mentioned above Herbal Essentials products are natural and safe to use on skin. I tried other products from the range too. I loved their Toner which has Rose water and Cucumber, which is very soothing and their Nourishing Cream with Aloe Vera, Sweet Almond and Apricot Oil. Herbal Essentials Nourishing Cream is extremely lightweight and smells amazing. Too good for my skin which is dry and sensitive. It is not at all greasy, doesn’t leave a residue and gets absorbed quickly. Overall the products are good if you are looking for natural and affordable skincare.

Price :

The Herbal Essentials range of products is currently available at leading pharmacies in the UAE, including Boots, Bin Sina, Supercare, Life, Kiosk in Mercato Mall and the Dubai Duty Free pharmacies at Dubai International Airport. The brand is also available in Oman, Qatar and Pakistan. Customers can also order online through www.basharacare.com and www.herbal-essentials.com with worldwide shipping.

Palmer’s Lip Balm Review

“If Lip Balm is food for lips, then Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula is a Vegan Brunch”
Dark Chocolate & Cherry, Dark Chocolate & Mint, Almond — and yes we are still talking about lip balm flavors and not smoothies ! Palmer’s Cocoa Butter has launched these 3 lip balms enriched with Vitamin E & added benefits of SPF 15 for sun protection. It claims to contain Cocoa butter, Vitamin E and Petroleum Jelly which are all good for the maintenance of our lips. Let’s talk all about Palmer’s Sweet Lips today.

The Summer months leave my lips chapped due to dry climate and the Winter months leave my lips cracked because the cold weather. Rough winds add fuel to the fire. Therefore I rely towards lip balms that I know will rescue my pout and leave it looking and feeling it’s best. Recently I was introduced to some lip balms from Palmer’s Cocoa Butter.

The gloss or lip butter rather has a consistency similar to a clear gloss; it is so thin that calling it a lip butter would be pretty inappropriate. The transparent tint prevents it from obstructing with makeup unless you are in a subtle red mood which you get with cherry flavor. Other one has a lovely fragrance of a blend of dark chocolate and peppermint, I would rather eat it. It feels like I have applied that chocolate on my lip. The peppermint gives a super cooling and tingling sensation for a while. Almond flavor gives a nutty taste and I have discussed the benefits of Cocoa Butter too earlier. The fragrance stays on the lips for an hour and then fades. It does soften up the lips after using it for a week or so. The lip gloss glides smoothly on the lips without bleeding. Vitamin E is a superpower seldom understated for its advantages. It leaves lips smooth and scar free.

The inverted tube is available in white and brown packaging. It comes up with a twist up and down, which makes it convenient to use. It is miniature and pretty handy as well as highly affordable to all the pockets. No cruelty policy gives this product an edge over other similar range over the shelf.

Try it soon as we are approaching changing climate in Dubai. Leave comments if you like share the same thought about this product.

Overall Opinion :
The Palmer’s lip balm is quite good for its price and moreover it is handy too. I have added them to my bag now as you all know that I have dry lips. I definitely recommend them for dry, chapped, cracked or windburned lips. It turns the lips soft with continuous use.

Price :
Dh 10  per tube, available at Boots Pharmacy, many other pharmacies and hypermarkets across UAE.

Filorga Skin Absolute Day Cream Review

Bonjour ! I greet you in French today as I am going to talk about Luxury French Skincare Brand ‘Filorga’. It has won my heart from the very first application. You want to know why? You will find your answer soon…..

About Filorga :
Filorga is a luxury French skincare brand and are pioneer in anti-ageing therapies. They have laboratories established since 1978. Filorga’s research focuses on constantly imagining new techniques to fight wrinkles, lack of firmness, cutaneous density loss and lack of brightness. The Skin Absolute Day cream by Filorga, claimed of the latest breakthrough in anti-aging.
I was not at all familiar with this brand but wanted to try out Filorga as you know that French skin care products are amazing. A big thank you to the Filorga Team who were generous to provide me with the full size Skin Absolute Day Cream to test. Though the product was provided to review by the PR, the opinions posted are honest and of my own.
Packaging of Filorga Skin Absolute Day Cream is very simple with minimalist labeling and design and yet aesthetically pleasing. It is a square shaped transparent glass pot that comes in a white box and comes with a small spatula to take out the product as well.
Filorga Skin Absolute Day Cream :
Skin Absolute Day claims a total rejuvenation in 30 days and is known as a accelerated multi-corrector because of the enzymes called Extremozymes present which are capable to transform UV and infrared rays, we are exposed everyday, in to energy. They boost the cellular functions, slowing down the aging process.
Like other Filorga products, this also contains Hyaluronic acid and NCTF which hydrates skin, stimulates skin elastin and collagen production, delaying the aging process.
Direction of Use :
Apply in the morning, after Cleansing and Toning, to the face, neck and decollete area. For maximum results, Filorga suggest to use it in conjunction with Filorga Skin Absolute Night Cream.
My Verdict :
It is a thick, creamy and luxurious day cream which blends on the skin so well. It does not contain any SPF, so a sunscreen before is a must. It also works as a great primer for my dry skin, is not at all greasy and settles well under makeup. My skin looks well rested and glows after its use. It is totally a rejuvenating experience. Though it is ideal for women above 30 years, but it can be used for younger age groups as well for preventing premature skin aging.
Overall Opinion :
It is a fantastic anti-aging cream and my skin felt definitely tighter, firm and much more lifted. Absolutely nourishing for my dry skin. Though the price is on the higher end but I think it is always worth investing in a good skincare product. I would totally recommend this product and give it a thumbs up !
Price :
It is priced at AED 680 for 50 ml and it is available at all Boots Pharmacy, Bin Sina Pharmacy and other leading pharmacies in the UAE.
